United States of America, late nineteenth century. Thirty years ago, the American Constitution abolished slavery, but not racial segregation. In Indianapolis, a black boy, Marshall Major Taylor, goes faster than everyone on a bicycle, even the most acclaimed cycling champions, who are obviously white. On the track Major has no rivals and in 1899 he won the title of world champion. Marco Ballestracci, one of the most convincing sports storytellers, tells the human story and the sporting rise of Major Taylor until 1901 and his embarkation for the tour of the velodromes of Europe and his international consecration.
