What a weekend in the beautiful Girona region, in Sant Gregori, for the opening event of the Gravel Earth Series — the incredible Santa Vall!

Two stages, pure gravel spirit, a lot of mud and unforgettable emotions.

Stage 1 – Saturday, February 14th
120 km and 1,600 meters of elevation gain. A true muddy adventure!
The temperature at the start was a chilly 5°C, and of course we showed up on the start line in short bibs, proudly wearing our brand-new, super cool kit designed by the amazing Curtis Bullock (also known as @savethepostalservice on Instagram). Style points? Maximum.

The Sartoria Ciclistica team lined up with an incredible squad:

  • Niccolò Ferrazzo, former Italian gravel champion

  • Philipp Bachl  our team pillar since 2025 from Austria

  • The talented rookie Davide Arnaboldi, “the laghée”

  • Pro rider Seraina Leugger, competing at MTB XC World Championship level

  • And Alex — once called “the Rocket,” now more affectionately known as “the Bald Man” (legends evolve 😉)

What a day it was!
We brought home gold and silver medals in the 35–39 age group — Philipp taking gold and Niccolò silver. Davide delivered a fantastic 15th overall, and Seraina powered to 24th in the elite/pro women’s category.

After Stage 1, we were also leading the club classification. The vibes were high. The energy was real. But… on to Day 2!

Stage 2 – 85 km and nearly 1,100 meters of elevation gain.
Drier terrain. Fast pace. Full gas from start to finish.

One day you feel like you're flying. The next day, you’re reminded that this is racing.

Philipp had a mechanical issue (DNF).
Seraina was stopped by a sharp rock and tires gone (DNF).
That’s gravel — tough, unpredictable, honest.

But we kept fighting.

Davide secured a strong 29th overall across all age groups — solid and determined.
And Niccolò? He went all in and won his category, finishing the weekend with a gold medal proudly around his neck! 🥇

Looking back, we can truly say:
It was a great weekend.
A great team.
Amazing people.
Pure fun.

And really… what else do you need?

Next stop: Italy for The Hills gravel race.

See you there! 🚴🔥
