19 aprile 2019, torna l'appuntamento con "Il Venerdì del Sarto".

Per la prima volta, a ridosso del 45esimo anniversario dal lancio ufficiale, avvenuto nel gennaio 1976, un evento italiano celebra la Renault 14, una delle più controverse berline della Storia automobilistica europea.

Troppo avanti per l'epoca, con elementi stilistici in anticipo di un decennio rispetto alla concorrenza e alla Golf, già riferimento del segmento, la R14 fu un successo non riconosciuto.
Persino in Francia, dove Renault rappresenta qualcosa di più di un semplice Marchio automobilistico, la R14 fu guardata con interesse e assoluto distacco, al tempo stesso.

Per certi versi, la R14 fu un esperimento pari a quello compiuto per la Twingo, nel 1992, con la differenza di essere posizionata in un segmento superiore, come il Segmento C, ossia quello delle berline compatte, e di avere conseguentemente prezzi più alti.

Tuttavia, è innegabile il fatto che questa francese sia un simbolo degli anni '70, della sperimentazione stilistica, dell'arguzia del Disegno Industriale, così come è innegabile l'originalità della campagna di lancio, che la paragonava a una pera.

Non si è mai visto, né prima, né dopo, un claim così assurdo e artisticamente ineccepibile, osè, traducibile in questi termini: "La berlina a forma di pera".
In effetti, la silhouette ricordava da vicino le linee di una pera, ma forse non fu il massimo pubblicizzarla così, in un decennio in cui la pera significava qualcos'altro.
Ma tant'è, gli anni Settanta sono belli proprio per le loro assurdità e contraddizioni.

Ed è partendo dalla famoso frutto meno proibito della mela che, questa volta, visto anche il clima finalmente mite, invitiamo i ciclisti a scendere dal pero, e a tirar fuori le loro perle migliori.

19 April 2019, the appointment with "Il Venerdì del Sarto" is back. For the first time, an Italian event celebrates the Renault 14, one of the most controversial sedans in the history of European automotive, close to the 45th anniversary of its official launch in January 1976. Too ahead for the time, with stylistic elements a decade ahead of the competition and the Golf, already a reference in the segment, the R14 was an unrecognized success. Even in France, where Renault represents more than just a car brand, the R14 was looked at with interest and absolute detachment at the same time. In some ways, the R14 was an experiment equal to that performed for the Twingo, in 1992, with the difference of being positioned in a higher segment, such as the Segment C, or that of compact sedans, and consequently of having higher prices. However, it is undeniable that this French is a symbol of the 70s, of stylistic experimentation, of the wit of Industrial Design, as well as the originality of the launch campaign, which compared it to a pear, is undeniable. We have never seen, before or after, a claim so absurd and artistically unexceptionable, risqué, translating in these terms: "The pear-shaped sedan". In fact, the silhouette closely resembled the lines of a pear, but perhaps it was not the best to advertise it this way, in a decade in which the pear meant something else. But anyhow, the Seventies are beautiful precisely because of their absurdities and contradictions. And it is starting from the famous less forbidden fruit of the apple that, this time, given also the finally mild climate, we invite cyclists to come down from the pear tree, and to bring out their best pearls.
