How can the bicycle enter a person's life without ever leaving it again? How can it become an indispensable instrument of pleasure and suffering, adventure and knowledge? How do the thousands of thoughts and sensations that cross the mind and heart of those who have a satisfying erotic relationship with the bicycle and with cycling take shape on a page? Read Paul Fournel and you too, diehard lovers of two wheels, will know what you have always confusedly intuited without ever having been able to say it in the right words.

«The bike is the shortest way to doubling yourself.
Twice as fast, twice as tired, twice as much wind in your face."
